Weekly social bowls

On Saturdays between May and early October, the Lilydale Bowls Club encourages members and bowlers from other clubs to come and join in and play a game. The dedicated team of Lilydale ladies, led by Judy Mulligan, organise and run this event, and do a fabulous job. This year Lilydale regularly has between 30 and 40 players attend and eagerly participate.

This is a blind draw competition, therefore every week you stand a good chance of drawing players you may not have met or played with before. It’s a great way to meet people and have an opportunity to play competitively with healthy prize money for the first and second placed teams.

For an entry fee of $10, you play eighteen ends of bowls and then are treated to a hot lunch, which is second to none. We ask any interested players to register their name during the week leading up to each Saturday to ensure they get a spot to play, as well as to ensure catering is adequate.

It’s no wonder Lilydale is gaining a reputation for not only developing and playing to a high standard of bowls, but the word is getting around that it is worth coming to Lilydale Bowls Club just to experience the quality and quantity of the bowls and meals provided. These Saturday events are very enjoyable and a great day out socialising, playing a game with a group of great people from across the north.
